The Iowa Green Brewery Certification is an assistance program designed by the IWRC to meet the specific needs of the craft beer industry across the state. Our experts will work with breweries of every size and scope to help them achieve the level of certification they desire; Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum. From an initial environmental audit to direct assistance with implementing new practices, the IWRC will be there to help your brewery at every step along the way.
How it works:
With input from industry experts and craft breweries, the IWRC has developed a checklist of sustainable practices that breweries can implement and has given each of these a corresponding value based on environmental impact and ease of implementation. After a brewery contacts the IWRC, an initial audit is scheduled. This audit takes about an hour and consists of information gathering through discussions and walking through the facility. A recommendations report will then be sent to the brewery outlining their initial score, corresponding certification level, as well as recommendations on how to gain additional points to increase their score. IWRC staff will then work with the brewery to achieve their desired score and certification level.
Certification Levels
Once the brewery is satisfied with their score, the IWRC will present them with a certificate and window cling to display this accomplishment to their patrons. The IWRC will also send out a press release to local media and promote your accomplishment on social media. Digital Iowa Green Brewery Certification logos will also be provided to the brewery to use on packaging, websites, marketing materials, etc.
